About pdod
Within the scope of digitisation of all processes in the construction project, it will become ever more important for all those involved in the construction to have access to a digital twin of the actual products.
With the great variety of product data, every user has a focal point in a different topic area. Thus, planners or designers will need a KV value for the pipework calculation, contractors need detailed geometries for construction and operators need maintenance and repair documents.
Until now, there was no central service for the various tasks that could provide this data across all manufacturers. By providing all data via a web service, this is now possible via pdod (product data on demand). Local archives, whether print or digital, can therefore be dispensed with.
Central data maintenance is here effected by the participating brand manufacturers.
Aside from this objective, pdod pursues the idea of providing all product data beyond the life cycle always on an up-to-date basis in order of optimising the long-term operation of a piece of real estate property.
Product data research
In the selection process of a product, this is frequently determined by the technical functionality. During research today, a great many manufacturers’ websites with permanently different search structures are frequented. On pdod, you will always find the products of your premium manufacturers with the same search structure.
Start your full-text search in the texts for invitations to tender, and by article number, categories or by direct selection of manufacturers. Subsequently, you can further narrow down the hits by means of a uniform search structure according to established data standards (e.g. VDI3805).
With all products, the detailed product data display has the same structure so that data can be looked at very quickly. The following can thus be directly inspected: product image and short description, text for invitation to tender, any documents and hyper links all the way to technical data and accessories. Due to the administration of historical data, you will always remain up-to-date and see whether recommended follow-up products exist for any discontinued articles.
Wish list
On one hand, any articles found may be manually put into the wish list and, on the other hand, they may also be imported by CSV. Thus, material excerpts from the planning software or from an order list may be processed further, in no time, in the wish list including all functionalities. At the touch of a button, these masses can be extended by the manufacturer’s recommended accessories; you will thus achieve increased planning security and directly include in the calculation any acoustic cladding, fasteners, mounting kits and much more. Indicated prices in the compilations always relate to the manufacturers’ UVP information [UVP ->environmental impact assessment - EIA].
Contents of the wish list may be saved, on the one hand, by PDF in comprehensive configurations, but they may also be exported via GAEB, UGS and CSV into other processes.
TIP: You will need a tender invitation conforming to STLB-BAU, and you will profit from GAEB-Export X82 which enables the automatic allocation to sample texts with STLB-BAU online.
Revision documentations
Within the scope of revision documentations, you will have to submit all documents for the products so that they will be available in the subsequent facility management processes?
With the possibility of the document download from the wish list, all ordered products may be entered by CSV, and the revision documentation may be subsequently generated by means of a click.
Generate, with one click, all documents from pdod including a table of contents and an importable link file for smooth import into the digital target system.
